How to install Musique on Linux
- Check your distribution and CPU architecture. Choose an amd64 or x86_64 asset for a 64-bit Intel or AMD system.
- Open the official latest GitHub release and download an AppImage, DEB or RPM package.
- For an AppImage, allow executing the file in its Properties dialog, then launch it. For a DEB or RPM, install it using your distribution package manager.
- Launch Musique and sign in with your Spotify account. Linux stores credentials using the Secret Service keyring.
Linux runtime dependencies differ between distributions. If an AppImage cannot launch, check its error output and the release notes, or try the native package for your distribution. Building from source also requires Tauri system dependencies and libasound2-dev.
Spotify Free and Premium accounts
Premium accounts stream directly through librespot. Free accounts use YouTube Music for playback with Spotify library and metadata. Musique is unofficial and uses a reverse-engineered protocol that is against Spotify's Terms of Service.
